CHEEK FILLER

Summary

Loss of volume in the mid section of the face occurs from mid 30s.The aging process involves loss of a natural fat pad in the cheek and the effect of gravity pulling the padding of the face down towards the jowl area.

Restoration of the cheek will provide refreshment to the face and is the sign of a young face. It also lifts the drooping skin below it and can help treat lines that have appeared as a direct consequence.

Cheek enhancement can be done with Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane or Juvéderm but can also be undertaken with fillers known for stimulating collagen production such as Ellansé.

Ellansé is a biostimulating dermal filler. It is injected in a similar manner to the more common dermal fillers but it contains a substance called polycaprolactone that has an additional benefit of stimulating new collagen production in the area surrounding the filler.

​

The immediate results are similar to standard filler but after the filler breaks down the collagen produced by these biostimulating fillers will last several years.
